Why I am Running

Saturday 5th Apr I’m so excited to be participating in the EMF Distance Challenge! My goal is to run 100 miles and raise $1,000 in support of the fight against cancer.

I’m running because I’ve seen firsthand the devastating impact cancer can have. But more importantly, I’ve witnessed the life-saving power of people coming together to fight it.

I’m running for my mom, who has taught me what true strength and resiliency look like. She’s shown me that joy can be found even in the smallest moments.

I’m running for my grandma, who showed me what it means to deeply care for those around you. She has been there for me my entire life in ways I can never repay, especially when my mom and Heavey Grandpa were battling cancer.

I’m running for my Heavey Grandma and Heavey Grandpa, both of whom I lost to cancer. Though I was just a baby when my Heavey Grandma passed, she continues to shape the way I love others. My Heavey Grandpa taught me the magic of storytelling and that saying “you’ll find this interesting” is always a great way to begin. Share
